We want the Swell Feels website to work for everyone, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, zoom or other assistive technology. Our goal is to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What we've done
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a "Skip to content" link.
- Text and buttons meet WCAG AA color contrast. We measured them, not just eyeballed them.
- Images have text descriptions, and decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- The vibe wheel works with a keyboard and tells screen readers which vibe and feelings are selected.
- Motion is short and stops on its own. If your device is set to reduce motion, it's turned off.
- Pages work zoomed to 200% and on small screens without scrolling sideways.
- Headings, page regions and questions are marked up so screen readers can jump between them.
What we haven't finished
- We haven't yet tested this site with people who use VoiceOver, NVDA or JAWS every day. That testing is planned, and we'll update this page when it's done.
- This statement covers the website. If something in the Swell Feels app doesn't work with your assistive technology, we want to hear about that too.
Tell us what's not working
If something on this site doesn't work for you, email hello@parkerinthewater.com. Tell us which page and what happened, and you'll hear back from a real person, usually within a couple of days.
